Ellesse is a sports apparel company that began in 1959, when Italian tailor Leonardo Servadio fused a passion for skiing and tennis with a flair for couture.
This design I created was a selection for the Ellesse 50th anniversary campaign, and was displayed at the anniversary exhibition party held in Rome. The design was inspired by the iconic 1960 art movement popular at the time of Ellesse's inception, and shows a stylised typographic illustration of the classic Ellesse tennis shoe. I used the Ellesse tennis ball icon to create a unique repeat print, inspired by playful 1960s art prints. The colour scheme incorporates the orange and blue tones derived from the Ellesse branding.
